Conceptions of Mathematics Teacher Educators Depicting Essential Mathematics Teacher Educator Knowledge

<p style="text-align: justify;">Research into knowledge which mathematics teachers require to teach abounds. There is also mounting interest among teacher education researchers characterize educator (MTEK). However, there a generic dearth of studies focusing on conceptions educators (MTE) regarding MTEK. This article product qualitative case study underscoring in that regard and the investigation involved two MTE who were practicing university. The research site was conveniently chosen, participants intentionally selected respond interview questions elicited espoused views. Narrative analysis used through exploration subsequent interpretation transcripts aligned with posed. Analyses suggested complexity exhaustively categorize MTEK necessary for train teachers. Notwithstanding, believed should include understanding teaching, knowledge, professional development. Additionally, findings acquire postgraduate studies, job practice, mentorship, participation development activities. Research other contexts recommended identify educators’ understandings how be acquired.</p>
